Not a dumb question at all - in fact a great one

Righto - really it depends on what computer you are using, but assuming that you are using a (more modern) version of windows, then you need to find your "My Computer" icon. This might be on your desktop (the screen where your computer start's up) or in your "start" menu.
When you have found that - your need to "RIGHT-CLICK" on the "My Computer" icon, this will pop up a menu.
From that menu, point to and LEFT CLICK on the "Properties" menu item.
This should pop up a screen that has several tabs across the top, the first one called "general" should be open by default. On this tab you should find the processor type, operating system version and also the installed RAM
