Can anyone help me with resizing photos to attach to a email.  I did find how to shrink the size of the photo but could
not see how to save that.  I have photos that I want to attach to a email but it has been rejected as being too big.

What do I do?

Many thanks

Hi there !

A great question - the funny part is that most versions of Windows do not come with a resizing tool automatically, so you will need to do a few things before you life gets easy.

First of all - you might want to read a guide that we wrote for our clients - it's a great how-to that explains a bit of the details behind image resizing.  This is written specifically about resizing images before uploading to your website - but you can read the same stuff as "resizing before emailling"... http://www.ruttentech.com/free-stuff/tips-and-tricks/126-resizing-images-before-uploading-to-your-website.html

In a nutshell - you will need a program to resize with.  There is a great free image tool that will do this at : http://www.irfanview.com/

IF you are using Windows XP - there is a groovy little tool that microsoft made in their "powertoys" collection.  Once installed, it adds a "right click" option to your computer to allow you to resize images easily.   You can download  it directly from:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe

and you can read about other XP powertoys here at: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Hope that helps!

I like (or used to*) a program called shrink pic. All you have to do is install it, set a few parameters, and it will do everything for you, happily ever after.

*Use to only because I don't use windows anymore
