Hey there Everyone
I get asked a lot for recommendation, and I often find myself saying on the radio "go and find a good local Geek to help you". One of the problems with living in such a wide and diverse area is that I don't know everyone in our area. (or maybe that's a good thing?) Another point is that the ABC cannot advertise or promote commercial businesses under it's charter, so I simply cannot give someone a plug no matter how good they are! But I do see the point of putting people in touch with their local Geeks.
Anyway - If you know of a good local geek, this is the place to post their contact details. I would like to avoid obvious ads, spamming a getting too commercial - just honest good advice from people that know about their area.
I would like to suggest the following format, and
will be checking all posts - if they do not follow this format, then I will remove the post.
POST FORMAT:- Subject line = "AREA" - "BUSINESS NAME" (eg. "Malanda - Tableland Computer Center")
- Business Name: (business name)
- Service Areas: (list any areas that are serviced by this business)
- Contact: (contact name of person if appropriate)
- Phone Number: (Phone Number)
- Email: (email address)
- Website: (website address)
- Notes: (list any specialities, extra services and other things of interest. eg, operating hours etc..)
- Testamonial: (If you are recommending this business as a third party, or customer, please feel free to say what you like about this person or business )
NOTES:- Anyone can post - so you are welcome to post your own business or services.
- You are also welcome to post other people's businesses.
- Anyone can comment on the business as a reply to the post
- I will remove any offensive, defamatory, rude or unhelpful replies
- My decision is final - that's it. You are welcome to PM me if you feel hard done by. I may answer
